10/13/08 - DOWN SYNDROME WALK

We went to the Down Syndrome walk for team Alyssa yesterday. We walked a mile for the event and it was fun. We dove in the pool to recover. We needed to rest up for school. Sean begins catechism today and i am on my fifth week already. He has his work cut out for him but i won't tell him.

8/20- SCHOOL STARTS.

It was supposed to start on the 18th but tropical storm Fay did not let it happen. I feel I will have a great year. I will be in fourth grade, one more and i have to go to another school. I am in gifted and so glad so is Sean!

8/8/08

Now that mom is back from Bolivia, we went to Jensen Beach for a vacation together. it was great.  The beach was clear and calm. We saw tons of fish and they swam by us. We saw a huge manatee swim right next to us. I ran on water out of the beach when i saw a huge thing, i did not know it was a manatee first. Then dad and mom knew what it was. it was scarry.

I  rode my bike on three days over the Intracoastal bridge up in Jensen which is just as high as the bridge to Key Biscayne is here. We could not believe it. Sean made it too on the couple bike behind dad. But dad was too tired and it was windy the last day so they stayed on the other side of the bridge. Mom and I saw dolphin from the top of the bridge.

We spent a lot of time at the pool there too, but mostly beach. It is called Jensen Beach, not Jensen Pool and we have a pool at home anyway.

We came back in time to celebrate Sean's birthday on the 7th, then again on the 8th at Chilis' then again on Sunday with the family. He has more birthday celebrations than anyone i know.

7/28/08

Hi, yeah, I didn't write for a while. But... alot of things happened, like my pool is done and clear, my Dad and I went to the pool and before we got in, we said "Is there water, or my mind is tricking me?" I went in and it was clear and clean!!!! And if you see the home page( well, yeah, you might have seen it................................. wait, cut the "might") there will be something that says "I MADE 4 AND 3/4 SOMETHING MOVIES! (ummm..... for real, I made 3 movies, and the 4th is almost done. AND I HAVE CABLE!!!!!!!!!!! yes!

2/1/08

Hello, hello, hello! I haven’t seen you in years! (Well, maybe just one year, oh, I forgot!)

Sean and I went to Gainesville! To see our sister, Alex on Feb 1st. We left with tia Elisa and tio padrino early in the morning before dawn. We went fishing, but no fish. Dustin taught me how to reel, how to set up the reel and everything else. Alex bought us some rods and stuff at Sports Authority.  When we got back to Miami  on February the third, I wanted to go fishing, but our mom and dad said “on Tuesday” and that day I caught a fish!!!!!  It was 1 foot long or longer!  It was heavy, too. Like many, many  pounds! It came from a tube; I got it with a fake worm! My uncle said, “He’s never going to get a fish” then,”ah! He got a fish!” Sean was so angry that he kept punching me! I want to go fishing again soon!

1/27/08

I had a bad crash Sunday January 27th at Shark Valley, on the way to the tower. I crashed into uncles Jessie and Jesus and all three tumbled into the path. Luckily, the alligators were distracted and busy and did not see the crash. My bike has a lot of scratches and the seat is a mess. Dad already bought a new seat that has to be replaced. I predicted we’ll see 25 alligators! And I did.

January 3, 2008

Our hamster, “Speedy” passed away. He had escaped some days before, then it got really cold and then he just passed away. Hampsters de not live too long and Speedy’s time had come.  Dad said some prayers and we buried it in our backyard. A few days later we got “Flash”. Flash has already escaped two times. Dad says this one will not live too long if he has to look for it one more time!

12/14/07

We went to Gainesville on December 14th for Jossua’s graduation. We had a lot of fun during the trip and while up there. Alex and Dustin were with us a long time. We went to the gardens and agin to the museum to see a special Sharks exhibition. Mom bought some bamboo shoots that we needed to tie to the top of the car and bring them all the way from Gainesville

                                                                Good-bye!

6/2/07

We went to Jensen Beach for the first time after a long time. It rained and rained and we got to do little. The ocean was angry and the pool cold, we spent a lot of time on the sand and in the pool even though it was freezing. Sunday was very pretty and we spent more time at the beach and in the water. Sean had a great time.

5/30/07

SCHOOL IS OUT!

I finished second grade! I got 10 awards and I was happy it is over. I did OK. I learned a lot but it is going to be difficult in the third grade. We will see. I got good grades (all A’s only 2 B’s) and 10 awards for everything. Dad will buy some frames for some of them.

5/24/07

The construction continues and now the pool hole is done. Sean and I have a great time in the hole and sometimes we hope they do not fill it up because it is a lot of fun. I can kick a soccer ball clear across the sides!

5/4/07

We went to Gainesville for Dustin’s graduation. Abuela went with us. It was a lot of fun. Dad got a map for the car and the lady kept telling him what to do and it was funny. “Keep right” Turn left” “destination on right” it was a lot of fun but it was getting to dad.

On the way there we heard the song “There’s a bathroom on the right” again and I thought it was that way again.

4/10/07

A lot has happened since I last wrote. Dad says I am lazy and he will not help me with the site if I do not write. I’ll see what I can do!

February 20th

Our bathroom is finished! We have floors, walls, tiles, water. It will be cool to take a bubble bath soon.

February 11th

The week after the Super Bowl, we visited the Stadium where the game was played. This was a million dollar field with the cost of the grass. The Dolphins play here too and it was fun to be there where they score touchdowns and all that stuff they do.

We had a lot of fun there and mom and dad got a trophy for being such great volunteers and working so hard.

February 10th

We went to Shark Valley again and I got sick. My bike broke down and made me pedal very hard but I did not know it was broken. Dad took me back to start on the tandem and left me there with tiita. He found out later that the brakes were stuck and that was why I had the problem since I am as good as Lance on this Valley.

January 28, 2007

Mom and Dad were volunteers for the Super Bowl that was here in Miami. They got some tickets for the NFL Experience and Sean and I went with Lizy and Alex and had a great time. We had the throwing thing and the running thing. But he most difficult was the one where a rope would pull you back almost when you were ready to put the ball in the basket. We had a lot of fun at the Home Depot place where we built a key rack.

January 1, 2007

Santa Clause was very good to us. We have about 10,000 presents and we are trying to get to them. We got what we wanted and are very excited.

I have done all of my homework for the holidays and I need for dad to check it.

We had a bunch of birthdays during the break from school.

First Baby Jesus, then my dad, then Alysia, then Jossua, then the new year.

We traveled to Alysia’s birthday and it was fun. Then we came back to Jossua’s. I stayed up until 2:00 on New Year’s eve. That was fun too.

December 21, 2006 - an e-mail.

I’m living with my Aunt and Godfather while they do some work in the house . My Brother came too. Also my Aunt takes me and my brother to school and I get so early to school that I thought I was late !(for the field trip too.) I saw Charlotte’s web. Then my mom picked me up after the movie. Then when it is Thursday or after Thursday I’m going to my uncle’s house then right back home!

November 14, 2006

Alex came to visit and she surprised us at home. We went to lunch with her and had a wonderful time. But late that week, it was the worst week of my life. My life was not good that week. I went to the emergency room three times in the week. I could not breathe. I had asthma, the flue and everything else. I am not a happy camper.

October 23, 2006

I have not been able to write for a while. I have been too busy in school with a lot of homework and reading and stuff. My girlfriends are in another class and I miss them. I need to find some Beatle songs to sing to them so they don't forget me.

We have been very busy and it has been fun.

One of dad's friends, Luis, had a 75 year birthday. That's a bunch. His family gave him a surprise party and it was cool. The family mentioned dad for his getting his friend into biking. This past week another of my dad's friends from Argentina, Alberto, came to visit. Dad says I met him a long time ago but I cannot remember. I must have been about Sean's age since he doesn't remember either. We had a good time with them. We went to a fish restaurant since he did not want any meat. Dad said if we gave him meat, his friend would kill him. Alex is coming to visit soon.

August 29, 2006

We have been in school for a week. It has been great. I get a lot of homework but I am OK with that. I have to work really hard. The school day is longer. Mom goes by the school for Sean and then has to return later for me. Next week I will try to come in my bike but, just like last year, they have no racks in school yet.

This was a difficult day. We have half of the house under construction and we had to prepare for Ernesto the storm. It was crazy but we prayed a lot with dad and it worked. The storm was not that big and did not bother us much and we had a great time together since school and dad's classes were cancelled.

On Friday, my dad got a huge problem with his leg. He had an operation and was in a lot of pain. They sent him home in crutches. Today, he had so much pain that he almost screamed I was about to run out of the house so I would not hear it. My brother could stay there if he wanted to.

More later…..

August 15, 2006

Yesterday was our first day of school. It was very exciting and I am very happy with 2nd grade. We will go to the gifted class soon and I will begin reading my lists again. I have a lot of homework and I hate that but mom and dad say it is part of my life and my job. What a job!

August 13, 2006

Even though it has been vacation for a long time, it is not really vacation until dad has his vacation from class. I went to see his class the other day and they are boring. No maps, no drawings, no books at all. Even the clock did not work. I don't know how he stays there so long.

We went to Jensen for a lot of days in the beach and pool and pool and beach and parks, and hills and a lot of fun. We were sad it ended, but it had to.

We then went to Sea World and Universal. We did not like Universal, at least dad, and he said he would never, never go back. At Sea World we had a lot of fun. In the Shark Encounter we had dinner around the sharks and it was the best ever! We finally had a birthday party for Sean on Sunday and got ready for the new school year. I am excited about it.

June 4, 2006

Vacation in here! Summer is here! No more homwork! But dad says there is a reading list I have to finish. I think I will make the list disappear.

We visited Alex and Dustin on Memorial Day weekend. They live in Gainesville (dad needs to spell this) which is a long way from here. The trip was long, but we watched movies on the way then fell asleep.

Dustin took us to the large place he works and let me drive a tractor and move things around. Then we went to Alex's animal clinic and saw many animals and a huge dog. They were all friendly. We played with Alex's snake at her house. We went river rafting in a river with a long, difficult name later and we had a lot of fun. I pretended to paddle but I got tired. I jumped in to the water which was very cold but it was great. I had not done this before and want to do it again. Later we went to a Botanical Garden (mom told me the name) and saw many, many plants in the very pretty place but only Dustin knew what they were. We also went down to a huge sink hole which was scary.  We did not spend too much time in the pool because we had so many things to do. I had never been in a river before. so that was good.

We had a lot of fun on this trip and we were happy to be with Alex and Dustin because we miss them.

On the way back to Miami two cars almost had an accident with us but did not. I can't wait to visit them again.

May 15, 2006

I have a new drum set. it is huge. it is professional and has all the parts that a big drummer has. But dad says he needs to get another one and return this one. i love this one because it is silver.

We had a wonderful Mothers' Day Weekend. We went to the cementary to visit abuela Guille on Saturday, then on Sunday, we prepared breakfast for mom in our incomplete terrace. We then went to the hospital to see Kiara, then to abuela's and then dad did a bar-b que.

May 12, 2006

Mom and Dad finished the Bike Ride to Key Largo. I was very proud of Mom because she finished the first day, 75 miles, all the way. We missed her in the car because she always drove us, but this year she went all the way. It was dad's 10th anniversary so we all had golden shirts that said "Carlos' Team" and we were proud of him too to finish both days again, even though he had so much pain in his feet.

March 27, 2006

We have been going to Shark Valley for the past 4 weekends. We have seen more than 50 alligators at a time, of all shapes and sized. Dad kept saying that the earlier we go the more we see, but it really does not matter. In the afternoon we saw a lot too. One crossed right in front of us from one side of the trail to the other just a few feet from us. The first two times I rode the trial on the attached bike to my dad and mom’s tandem. The second two times I went on my own bike and did 15 miles each time. I have a new speedometer on the bike so I know exactly how much I have biked.

March 27, 2006

Our band, Mark II, had its first life concert at Tio Padrino’s house. We did posters and tickets. Each ticket was also good for a soda and snack that mom prepared. and dad called the place the Presley Amphitheater. We had two rehearsals at home, one for Alex and another for my uncles. Sean did a great job and we had a few songs for him to sing, including his favorite, I’ll Follow the Sun. He was doing very well. But on concert day, he just ran away from the stage and my dad and I were left by ourselves to do the concert. It was OK but it was not the same without Sean. There was a lady in the audience he did not know and he got scared. We had to wait a long time for the people to arrive and that made Sean nervous. I was very nervous too but did the performance as we practiced.

March 21, 2006

Alex and Dustin came for Lizy's wedding. they came by the house with the dogs and Chuck went a little crazy. They saw us practice our band and we had a lot of fun.

We went to Lizy's wedding yesterday. It was at a beautiful place by the bay. We saw racoons and manatees in the water. The manatees were in the water, the racoons out. We ate and danced and played and had a great time. We sat at Alex and Dustin's table. Then we fell asleep on the way home. I did anyway, I am not sure about Sean.

February 10, 2006

I can test higher than my level which is 3.1 to 5.9.

However, I am having a difficult time with math now and my parents are going to beat those numbers into me if its the last thing they do.

My teacher said that I am almost to 100 stickers.

I have to go and do my homework now before mom has a heart attack and gives me another.

I have a wonderful teacher, Ms. Stout. She is strict but keeps me in line. She sends notes to my parents when I am silly or do not do my work, but she also sends them notes when I do OK. She sends more of these than the others. Thank goodness, otherwise...
